In addition to his responsibilities as CTO, Tobias Irmer will be assuming the position of Managing Director and will be in charge of the operative business of the Hamburg-based company.
Kristian Meinken will be leaving the ranks of the executive management two-and-a-half years after the company’s founding and will hand over leadership to Tobias Irmer, who has been active as the company’s CTO from the start. These changes come in the wake of Mercury Media’s successful business expansion over the past year. The new structure also reflects the company’s independence from parent company pilot Hamburg GmbH und Co. KG, where Kristian Meinken is a member of the executive management. Tobias Irmer is at the helm of the technology behind Mercury Media and was heavily involved in developing the software. In collaboration with Sven Wöltjen, Director Sales, he will now be responsible for driving new client business and building the company’s team.
Tobias Irmer has been working in the digital industry for almost two decades. He spent 15 years in a variety of managerial positions at the pilot agency group, where he also held an executive management position from 2008 to 2017. His most impressive work includes handling the conceptual and technical development of the SaaS solution, Mercury Media.
“We believe that our product represents a significant step in the future of the media industry. Improved workflows guarantee structured, clean data that can be accessed via dedicated interfaces and then processed further. That means tremendous cost and quality advantages and lays the foundation for taking the next steps toward automation and AI. I’m looking forward to continuing to advance our product within the scope of exciting client projects” Tobias Irmer says.
Mercury Media targets both media agencies and advertisers and brings together all of the data and information involved in digital media planning. Thanks to its high degree of automation, the software solution can reduce manual effort at agencies by up to 43%. That makes workflows significantly more efficient and gives agencies more time to spend advising their clients and focusing on the strategy behind digital media campaigns. Today, Mercury Media is being used by numerous clients throughout Europe. The 14-member team continues to advance the software solution and in July the company moved into new offices in the Speicherstadt district of Hamburg to keep up with its rapidly growing business.
